Detailed Information [109026]

Strain Information
DGRC Number 109026
Genotype with FlyBase Link w[*]; Fmr1[B55]
Genotype w*; Fmr1B55
Received Date 30 June 2004
Comments In FlyBase, the allele Fmr1[B55] is found as Fmr1[B155]. A typoloigical error in FlyBase? 08 July 2004. M. Tomaru
Also known as w[*]; Fmr1B55, dmfr1
Original Source Haruhiko Siomi, University of Tokushima
Original Comments Fmr1B55 allele is a hypomorphic allele, and homozygous Fmr1B55 mutants can be easily maintained as a stock. Homozygous Fmr1B55 mutants show abnormal circadian locomotor activity, and thus that could be used as a model to study the molecular pathways leading to fragile X syndrome.
Genus Drosophila
Subgenus Sophophora
Species Group melanogaster
Species Subgroup melanogaster
Species melanogaster
