| Original Comments | This transgene is on the 3rd chromosome. A cDNA of Arabidopsis thaliana AtSPO11-1 gene (a homologue of D. melanogaster mei-W68 gene) was cloned into a P-element transformation vector CaSpeR-hsp83, which includes hsp80 promoter and hsp70 terminator as well as a mini-white gene, and transformed. The ectopic expression from this transgene never complemented reduced female fertility of mei-W68[1] homozygotic flies, but showed weak double-stranded break-forming activity. |
