This strain was kept in Osaka Prefecture University (formerly Naniwa University) since it was collected from Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan in October 1952. Its subculture was transferred to the Itoh Laboratory, Kyoto Institute of Technology in 2003. And then its subculture was donated to Drosophila Genetic Resource Center on the 10th of August 2012.
