To facilitate functional annotation of human genes and variants, an international collaborative network of fly resource researchers has been making a large collection of UAS-human ORF transgenic flies based on sequence validated full length human cDNAs. They are now available at KYOTO Stock Center or Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center or both. This project is still ongoing.

No balancer?

The P{UAS-hsp-Hsap\***} insertions are usually balanced as described, but some lines have lost their balancer chromosomes. Because not all of humanized fly lines are lethal or sterile, the lines of which homozygotes are viable and fertile may have been fixed as homozygous lines for their insertion chromosome. We do not check the present status of homozygosity of each line. Please carefully examine the line before you use.
